To fully understand a company and its prospects the team uses rigorous bottom-up analysis. This includes assessing a company’s leadership, competitive strengths, growth algorithm and intrinsic business value.
Controlling risk, both at the portfolio and company level, is always at the forefront of the Team’s strategy, with investments strategically diversified across industries, geographies, market drivers and thematics to deliver an optimal risk/return profile.

Meet the Fundamental Equity team
Victor Cheung, CFA
Victor is a equity analyst responsible for covering Industrials, Materials, Telecommunications, as well as Special Situations. He has over a decade of industry experience and was most recently an Associate Portfolio Manager at an independent high net worth asset manager. Victor graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) and Minor in Business from McMaster University. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
Rodrigo Pantoja, MBA
Rodrigo brings with him a wealth of investment experience, starting his career as an equity analyst in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where he focused on bottom up research before moving to Canada. He had previously been employed by the Kraft Heinz Company before returning to school at the Ivey Business School to complete his MBA. After his MBA, he returned to the investment industry as an Investment Associate and Portfolio Manager for a private investment firm.
Ketaki Saraf, CFA
Ketaki is an Equity Analyst joining BMO Global Asset Management in 2023. She is involved in the analysis, valuation, and execution of potential opportunities and monitoring companies in the Canadian Consumer space. Prior to joining BMO GAM, she was part of the sales team at a large asset manager in Toronto, where she focused on business development and relationship management working with financial advisors across the GTA. Part of her responsibilities also included doing in depth analysis of underlying investments, and providing advice on optimizing client portfolios. She attended the University of Toronto, where she attained her Bachelor of Commerce (Finance Specialist, Economics Major), and holds her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Judy Chen
Judy joined BMO Global Asset Management’s (BMO GAM) Canadian Fundamental Equities team in 2023, where she covers the consumer discretionary sector. Prior to joining BMO GAM, she spent several co-op work terms with the British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) as well as a private equity firm in China. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce.
Nicole White, CFA
Nicole joined BMO Global Asset Management in August 2021 as an Associate Portfolio Manager with a focus on Preferred Shares. Nicole brings 20 years of experience in Fixed Income, Currency and Multi-Asset portfolio management from a Canadian Investment firm with both institutional and retail mandates. Nicole has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph and is a CFA Charterholder.
Jordan Luckock, CFA
Jordan is responsible for managing the Canadian Core Equity mandates at BMO Global Asset Management. Joining the firm in March of 2022, Jordan brings 18 years of professional investment experience including 10 years managing Canadian-focused large cap equity portfolios for retail, institutional, and high net worth clients. Jordan has an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from the University of Western Ontario (Huron College) and a Master of Science (Finance) degree from Queen’s University. Jordan is also a CFA charterholder.
Valentin Padure, CFA
Val joined BMO Global Asset Management in March 2021 as the lead Portfolio Manager for the Canadian small cap mandates. Val has 7 years of industry experience including 4+ years of dedicated small cap experience, focusing exclusively on small and mid-cap companies across all industries. Most recently, Val was an Associate Portfolio Manager and Portfolio Lead for CIBC Asset Management’s Canadian small cap strategies. Val holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He is also a CFA charterholder.
Lutz Zeitler, CFA, MBA
Lutz joined BMO Asset Management Inc.’s Canadian equity team in March 2012 as a portfolio manager primarily focused on the firm’s large cap Canadian dividend and income strategies. Prior to joining BMO AM, Lutz was a portfolio manager with BMO Harris Investment Management where he managed several Canadian equity yield and core mandates. In addition to Lutz’s over two decades of experience in both portfolio management and research, he holds a Master of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business and is a CFA charterholder.
Philip Harrington, CFA, M.Fin.
Philip joined BMO Asset Management Inc. in March 2012 and brings with him over two decades of experience in the investment industry. Philip is a member of the large cap portfolio management team at BMO GAM and responsible for the firm’s Canadian dividend and income strategies. Previously, he worked as both an analyst and portfolio manager at BMO Harris Investment Management. A graduate from the University of Toronto, Philip holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, received his Master of Finance from the Rotman School of Business and is a CFA charterholder.
Jennifer So, CPA, CA, CFA
Jennifer joined BMO Asset Management Inc. in September 2015. Jennifer is a Portfolio Manager and specialist in ESG and Responsible Investing. Jennifer spent a decade at a Canadian Bank with experience in Investment Banking, Research and Institutional Sales. In addition, she has a further 7 years experience as a Chartered Accountant at one of the big four accounting firms and teaching undergraduate finance at a Canadian University. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and is a CFA Charterholder, CA and CPA.
